Building a launch
Write the announcement, invite people four different ways, review what they write, and manage your workspace media.
If you are deciding whether this fits a podcast episode, a book, an event or something else with a date, start from the use cases. This page is the buttons.
Start it
Create, and write the post you want to announce with. That is the whole setup — there is no form asking for a name and a date before anything exists to name. The launch takes its name from what you wrote, and its launch moment (T-0, the instant everything else is scheduled around) from the earliest post in it.
Then Invite people from the composer. That is the moment it becomes a launch: your first post is the announcement, everyone else's posts hang off it, and the brief, the roster and the review queue appear.
Your own posts do not move when you do this. The times you picked are the times they go out; the stagger that spreads a crowd applies to the people who join, not to you.
Name, launch time, timezone and rehearsal are all editable afterwards under Basics. Set a destination URL there too if you want click attribution: every participant gets their own tracked link when it is set.
While the launch is a draft the pages are a numbered path, Basics → Brief → Posts → People → Go, with a tick beside each part that is done. The steps are never locked. The numbers say what is finished, not what you are allowed to touch.
Write the brief
Optional. A launch runs fine without one, and the step stays unticked without blocking anything.
The brief is what every participant reads before they write: the story in markdown, an attached Google Doc or Notion page, reference links, and a set of clips from your media library. Participants see the clips beside the composer and can pull any of them into their own post. The brief stays editable after the launch is scheduled.
Write the announcement
On the Posts step. This is the one thing a launch cannot be scheduled without.
If you write it for several platforms, each gets its own text. The X version and the LinkedIn version are rarely the same length, and pretending otherwise produces a post that reads as padded on one and truncated on the other.
Invite people
Four ways, and they do different jobs:
- Share a participation link. Each cohort gets its own. Whoever joins through it is tagged with that cohort, which steers their suggested time. You send this link yourself.
- Pull a cohort from contacts. If the people are already in your workspace contacts, add them directly. They land as invited and the reminders reach them automatically.
- Invite a cohort by email. The product does the sending: your note plus a single-use join link each. A preview shows exactly who will be emailed, and who is skipped as already on the roster or unsubscribed, before anything is sent.
- Reuse a past launch. Pull everyone who joined a previous launch onto this one. Their cohorts carry over.
What the join page shows
Anyone who opens a participation link sees the launch post, the brief, and what joining involves. A campaign's join page also shows the approved posts other participants have planned, with their names, so the person deciding can see who is already in. Drafts and posts still waiting for your review never appear there.
This is on by default. The switch is on the People step: untick Show approved posts on the invitation and the join page goes back to the launch post and the brief alone. A participation link needs no account to open, so whatever the page shows is visible to anyone holding the link.
Send materials with an invitation
Every invitation can carry materials on top of the brief: up to four clips from your media library, a quotable line, and a note. Participants see them beside the composer, ready to pull into their own post — never pre-filled. You can upload straight from the clip picker; files land on the workspace shelf like any other upload.
- On a person's emailed invite, the materials are theirs alone, and this is the only place a post can be set to skip your review. The roster's Materials column shows what each invitation carried and lets you edit it after the send: the email is out, but their launch page updates.
- On a cohort, the same materials go out with every email and stay on the cohort's participation link, so people who join later get them too. Edit them any time from the cohort row's Link materials; rotating the link or duplicating the launch keeps them.
Cohorts are managed from Contacts → Manage cohorts: rename, describe, merge two that should always have been one, or delete. Renaming updates every surface, including links you already shared.
Rotating a link stops every copy of the old one immediately. People who already joined keep their access, and other cohorts' links are unaffected.
Review what people write
Posts waiting on review queue up on the People step, beside the people who sent them, and on the overview once the launch is scheduled. Opening one lands in the review workbench.
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Approve | Joins the schedule. If the launch is already scheduled, it joins immediately. |
| Request changes | Sends it back with your note. |
| Suggest an edit | The author sees both versions and picks. Accepting approves it instantly. |
| Reject | Removes it from consideration. |
You cannot rewrite someone's post. You can only suggest, and they choose. Nobody publishes words they did not approve.
The media library
The sidebar's Media Library is the workspace's shelf: the logo, the product shots, the headshot, the video that appears in every launch. Any member can add files and remove them.
Picking a file into a post puts a copy in the post. Removing it from the shelf later never touches a post that already has it, and deleting a launch takes the copies and leaves the shelf alone. A removed file's storage is released within about two days.
Describe a file once. Each image has an alt text field. Fill it in and every post that later uses that file starts with the same description already written. An author can change it for their own post, and that never edits the shelf.
Media uploaded while writing a post stays with that post. It never joins the shelf on its own, and the Media Library page lists it under In your posts so you can find it again.
Who can see the shelf. Everyone who has joined one of your launches can browse it, download any file, and use any of them. So can every member. Keep anything you would not hand to a participant off it.
Storage is capped per plan and only what is on the shelf counts. See plans and limits.
