On YouTube a post is a video. Attach the file to the card and it is uploaded and published at the scheduled time, with the title and description you wrote.

Comments and replies attach to the launch video. They wait for the upload to finish and for YouTube to return the video id, then publish in the order you planned, which is why a launch with a video announcement puts the upload first.

Limits

Descriptions run to 5,000, counted as bytes rather than characters, so an emoji costs more than a letter. The composer counts the way YouTube counts.

Numbers

Posts on YouTube are measured 30 times: about an hour, a day and a week after publishing.

One thing worth knowing about reading them. A play is a stronger signal than a feed impression: somebody chose to watch something. YouTube reports plays and not displays, so a YouTube post's views figure is its play count. Any total that includes plays says how many.

YouTube shows a separate impressions figure in its own Studio. That number is not readable from any interface YouTube opens to other software, so it does not appear here.

What you connect

Connecting asks YouTube for permission to upload and manage videos on your channel, to comment as you, and to read your own channel's analytics. Nothing is uploaded except the file you attached to a post you approved.
