# How do I get podcast guests to promote their episode?

Invite the guest by email with the clip and a note, and they get a page with the ask, the assets, and a post they can publish or hand back to be published for them.

Every episode is a small launch with one outside participant who has their own
audience and no stake in your show's promotion calendar. The guest wants the
episode to do well. They will not open a shared drive to find the clip.

Here is the version of that job that LaunchGenius runs today.

## Create the episode as a launch

One launch per episode. The launch moment is the release time, and the
destination is the episode page. If you publish the show's own announcement
through a connected account, write it as the launch post: the guest can then
back it with a repost or a quote instead of writing from scratch, and their
post attaches to yours.

Turning the rehearsal off is the last thing you do. Everything else runs the
same either way.

## Invite the guest by email, with the kit

On the People step, choose to invite by email and type the guest's address. No
cohort to set up first, no contact to create. Alongside the link you can attach:

- **Clips** from your media library, up to four, so the guest can pick the
one that fits. They arrive with the invite and sit beside the guest's
composer, and you can upload straight from the picker. Forgot one? The
roster's Materials column edits what a guest was handed after the send.
- **A line they said**, up to a sentence or two, offered as quotable text. It
is never pre-filled into their post; it is there to be reached for.
- **A note** in your own words. It rides in the email and stays on their page,
so a guest who opens the link three days later still sees why you asked.

You can also let the guest's post skip your review. For a guest you already
trust, that removes the one step that needs you to be awake at the same time
they are.

## What the guest sees

The link opens a page that says what saying yes costs, in one line: about two
minutes, back the post with a repost, a quote or your own words, pick when it
goes out. The guest signs in with an email address. No password, no paid
account, nothing to connect unless they want to.

If they connect an account, their post publishes itself at the time they
picked. If they do not, they get a message at that time with the text ready to
copy, the clip ready to download, and a link that opens the platform's own
composer. They post it and press "I posted it". Either way it counts.

## When the episode goes live

Guests are a built-in cohort with their own wave: the suggested time is
15 minutes to 2 hours after T-0. They can move it. Their post publishes at that moment
or the reminder arrives at that moment. A guest who has not confirmed gets a
second reminder ten minutes later.

Nothing publishes twice, and nothing publishes without the guest's approval,
which is the same as saying nothing goes out in your voice pretending to be
theirs.

## What you find out

The launch report shows whether the guest posted, when, and how many people
followed their link. Their contact record carries it forward: the next time you
have them on, you can see that they posted last time, on which platform, and
how close to the release moment.

Across a season, the contact list becomes the answer to a question every host
has and nobody writes down: which guests actually promote, and which never do.

## What this does not do yet

It does not read the episode from your host. You create the launch and paste
the episode link. It does not generate clips. You upload the ones you have.
Both are the kind of thing an agency running twenty shows would want, and if
that is you, the [contact page](/contact) is the fastest way to say so.
