# X scheduler

Schedule X posts in advance. Posts, replies, reposts and threads publish automatically. Quote posts are published by hand, because X reserves that for its Enterprise tier.

Connect an X account once and LaunchGenius publishes to it at the times you
scheduled.

Those four names are the kinds of post a launch can carry. If they are new to
you, the [concepts page](/concepts) defines each one.

Everything in the automatic row publishes through the X API with nobody
present. Threads are supported: split a post with a line of three dashes and
each part publishes in sequence under the one before it.

The one exception is a Repost, which carries your commentary on top of the
launch announcement. X only offers that on its Enterprise tier. Rather than let
one schedule and then fail at publishing time, LaunchGenius sends the author a
message at the scheduled time with the announcement attached and their
commentary ready to paste, and X's composer opens with both already in place.

## Limits

X counts 280 characters, and links count as 23 whatever
their real length. The composer counts the way X counts, so a post that fits in
the editor fits on X.

Posts to X are the only ones LaunchGenius pays for per post, and a post
carrying a link costs thirteen times one without. That is why every plan states
two X numbers rather than one:

Only automatic posts count. A post someone publishes by hand costs nothing and
is never counted, which is the release valve when a launch runs past a cap.

## Numbers

Posts on X are measured once, about a day after publishing, for the launch post and the 5 posts that drove the most clicks.

X bills for reading a post's numbers as well as writing one, so the reads are
rationed rather than blanket. Everything else on the report, including link
opens and who posted on time, is measured by LaunchGenius and covers every
post regardless.

## What you connect

Connecting asks X for permission to read your profile, publish posts, upload
media, and stay connected so scheduled posts still work when you are away.
Tokens are stored encrypted and only the publishing service can read them.
Disconnecting revokes them.
